The Governing Body;
- set the strategic direction for the School
- act as a critical friend to the Headteacher and the School and hold the School to account on finance and outcomes
- are not involved with the day to day running of the School. We work to improve outcomes for every child at Loddon. Governors are "eyes on, hands off"
- has real impact
- is filled with committed governors, from a range of experiences and backgrounds, who really care
Anyone can apply to be a school governor. You don't have to be a parent of a child in the school or have worked in a school. People who have particular skills or experience to offer are welcomed.
Governors work as a team so the amount of time each of them can give will vary. However you will need to be able to prepare for meetings and attend meetings - the governing body meets at least once a term, but you probably will also serve on at least one committee that meets each half-term. Meetings will often be during the evening but may be early or during the day. There will be induction and ongoing training available for governors.
