Curriculum

At Loddon Primary School we follow the Early Years Statutory Framework in Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum in Years 1-6.

Following updates to the approved phonics schemes list from the DFE in 2021 we are currently using bug club to supplement our phonics teaching as we review the future use of 'Letters and Sounds'  phonics resource.

Children at Loddon learn to read using a wide variety of text including those taken from the following reading schemes.

Oxford Reading Tree, Bug Club, Big Cat, Rigby Star

Please support your child's learning in the curriculum by hearing them read as often as possible; reading is a key skill for all subjects and we greatly appreciate parents prioritising time to support the practise of reading.
